Main Street Fountain Inn launches Outdoor Expansion and Beautification Grant (South Carolina)

The Main Street Fountain Inn has lunched Outdoor Expansion and Beautification Grant to encourage the creation and beautification of public spaces in the City of Fountain Inn.

Details:

The Outdoor Expansion and Beautification is a grant to provide a level of financial support to businesses seeking to add or improve outdoor spaces intended for public use.

Eligible improvement include but are not limited to the following:

  • Parking Improvements
  • Infrastructure Improvements to Public
  • Gathering spaces
  • ADA Accessibility Improvements

All applicants will be required to comply with planning codes, legislative requirements, and other compliance requirements. This grant is available to commercial properties within the Fountain Inn Main Street Program Area.

The City of Fountain Inn requires a detailed line item budget be submitted and approved before any purchases are made. The City of Fountain Inn also requires a public use agreement to be on file before any purchases are made.

Funding Information

Applicants are eligible to receive up to 50% of the project cost up to $20,000, depending on the scope of the project.

To be eligible for consideration, please attached the following: 

  • Proof of building ownership, such as a copy of the recorded deed with owner name matching applicant name (if leasing property, written approval from building owner is required).
  • Proof of current property and casualty insurance.
  • Two (2) to four (4) photographs of current façade(s) conditions including close up and panoramic shots.
  • Conceptual design plans (provided by the City of Fountain Inn) and an outline of proposed improvements, including a materials list. Designs must be reviewed by Main Street staff before purchasing in order to be eligible for reimbursement. The City of Fountain Inn will provide free design renderings (up to $3,000 value)!
  • Two (2) written cost estimates/bids from licensed construction professionals.
  • Detailed line item budget from a registered/licensed contractor or licensed architect. Contractors must include their business license or tax ID numbers as proof that they are eligible to do work in the City of Fountain Inn.
  • Accurate color samples (required for painting approvals).
  • Images that indicate quality of finishes.
  • Signage renderings that graphically indicate sign lettering style, size and sign dimensions.
  • License numbers for any contractors and subcontractors involved in project.
  • A Public Use Agreement on file with the City of Fountain Inn
