The purpose of the Texas Partners for Conservation funding is to leverage NRCS and partner resources in applying voluntary conservation throughout Texas. This program is intended to provide NRCS workload assistance in addressing the following priorities:
- Outreach & Education to Historically Underserved Producers/Clients
- Increase outreach to historically underserved agriculture producers
- Expand Conservation Technical Assistance to increase conservation planning and promote USDA NRCS Farm Bill programs
- Increase field office capacity to effectively assist historically underserved agriculture producers
- Farm Bill Operations
- Climate-Smart Agriculture and Forestry – support delivery of conservation practices that provide quantifiable carbon sequestration and/or greenhouse gas reductions
- Urban and Small Farm Agriculture – conservation technical assistance and education
- Expand Conservation Technical Assistance to private landowners
- Expand landscape planning and application to include Agricultural Conservation Easement Program
- Emphasis will be placed on projects that:
- Provide high-quality technical services which assist NRCS customers to achieve their conservation goals through conservation planning and implementation
- Include on-farm demonstrations and field days, conservation practice technologies, and/or increased field office capacity
- Provide matching contribution funds

The estimated funding floor for this opportunity is $30,000, and the estimated funding ceiling is $150,000
Grant Period
Projects may be between 1 and 3 years in duration. Applicants should plan their projects based on an estimated project start date of September 30, 2022.

- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS (other than institutions of higher education)

- Private institutions of higher education
- Public and State-controlled institutions of higher education
- Special district governments
- State governments
