The program is made possible by the Long Beach Recovery Act to help local personal services and fitness businesses that have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19 to recover and stabilize.
Funding Information
- Eligible businesses can receive between $5,000 and $25,000 to support their business. Funding levels will be determined by gross revenue.
Eligibility Criteria
- Businesses must:
- Be located and operating within the boundaries of Long Beach, California (Address cannot be a PO Box or an address that leads to a shipping center as their physical location)
- Must have a City of Long Beach business license in a personal services or fitness license category.
- Must be private for-profit business including sole proprietorships
- Must have experienced financial hardship as a result of COVID-19 and the related health and safety restrictions, such as business interruptions or closures incurred due to the pandemic. Must be willing to self-attest under penalty of perjury that the business experienced financial hardship. Grant recipients may be subject to an audit administered by the City to verify financial hardship.
- Must be currently open and active for business
- Be an independently-owned business
- Have less than 200 employees
- Earn no more than $2 million in annual gross revenue
- Corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships must have an “ACTIVE” status with the California Secretary of State.
NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is not required for this program, and non US citizens are encouraged to apply.
