The Scanlan Foundation is accepting applications for its Grant Program to support Catholic organizations in Texas.
Donor Name: Scanlan Foundation
State: Texas
County: All Counties
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 05/15/2022
Details:
They will fund organizations with the greatest potential for impact in their priority areas. They will be reducing small grants in the grant cycle to encourage ministries to increase their local fundraising efforts. This allows the Foundation to make larger grants to invest in solutions and impact that they can track. Organizations that currently rely on grants merely to close the gap in budgets will need to form a 3-5 year plan to reduce their budget deficit, and the Scanlan Foundation will consider grant funds for consultants to help form those plans.
Goals and Priories
They believe that the most impactful way to carry out our mission of furthering the Roman Catholic Church in the State of Texas is to build a culture of vocations to the priesthood, religious life, and holy families.
This culture of vocations will be foundational in all that we do as we move forward with making decisions, strategic giving, and forming relationships. This cornerstone supports four main mission-furthering pillars of funding: Marriage & Holy Families, Catholic Education, Evangelization & Discipleship, and Life & Human Dignity.
- Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life
- Increase the number of men answering their vocation to join the priesthood and of women answering their vocation to join religious life.
- Marriage & Holy Families
- Encourage couples discerning marriage to choose sacramental marriage and be well-prepared for their upcoming marriage.
- Strengthen and bolster existing marriages for their important role as the domestic church.
- Catholic Education
- Enhance access to Catholic education for families who value the faith-based educational environment but would otherwise be unable to afford the tuition.
- Improve teacher faith-formation.
- Develop strong campus ministries.
- Evangelization & Discipleship
- Form Missionary Disciples, especially on the college campuses in Texas.
- Foster personal holiness and promote individual faith formation.
- Life & Human Dignity
- Assist the poor, sick, and vulnerable.
- Promote faith-based therapy.
- Strengthen the culture of life.
