Details:
“Matching grant funds” means that the City will provide a given amount of funds and the Homeowners’ Association must show evidence that the grant funds are equally matched. For the purpose of this program, HOA shall refer to Homeowners’ Association and/or Neighborhood Association.
Primary Objectives
- To strengthen and improve neighborhood associations
- Improve the appearance of City neighborhoods
- Cement the relationship between the HOA and the City government
- Stimulate inter-neighborhood coordination/cooperation, encourage new communities to develop their own neighborhood associations, and stimulate interaction between all DeSoto HOA’s.

- The following are examples of eligible projects, but are not limited to:
- Landscaping Projects
- Cooperative Neighborhood Work or Odd Projects
- Seasonal Decorations
- Creative Neighborhood Beautification Projects
- Safety-related Equipment

Funding Information
- Grant amount not to exceed $500.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility Requirements Include:
- HOAs must be registered with the City by October 31st of each calendar year to be eligible to apply for the grant;
- Application project must meet at least one of the primary objectives for Round One distribution;
- Associations are distinguished as official HOAs by showing evidence of Articles of Incorporation;
- Registered with the Secretary of State and be in good standing with State and Federal entities;
- Have an official bank account;
- HOAs must give timeline for the project and show evidence that the funds were used by the set deadline.
- All previous grant funds must be spent and reported to the City of DeSoto no later than September 30th of the current fiscal year.
