The Yakima County is accepting applications for the 2022 ARPA grant allocations from local businesses, not-for-profit service providers, individuals/households, and other agencies for projects that will benefit the Yakima community.

ARPA funds may be allocated to successful applicants which are spent within the eligible categories outlined in the US Department of the Treasury Overview of the Final Rule and the National Association of Counties-Overview of the US Treasury Final Rule for ARPA Fiscal Recovery Funds. In addition to these Project Categories, projects must align with an Expenditure Category as set forth by the United States Department of the Treasury.
Funding is available through Federal relief funds allocated to the County to aid in the COVID-19 pandemic response and recovery.
Examples of eligible project categories are:
- Programs, services and capital expenditures to build certain affordable housing, childcare facilities, schools and hospitals that support an eligible COVID-19 public health or economic response.
- Modernization of Cybersecurity.
- Investments in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure to improve access to clean drinking water, to support vital wastewater and stormwater infrastructure, and to expand affordable access to broadband internet.
- Restore and bolster Public Safety sector capacity such as Law Enforcement Officers, Dispatchers, Firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders which support government’s ability to deliver critical COVID-19 services.
