Through this grant program, BPI wants to ensure that students of color, especially Black students, can learn in a supportive environment that respects their humanity, upholds their dignity, and has the resources to provide students with the space they need to learn, grow, and thrive
For this grant round, priority will be given to:
- Black-led groups/organizations.
- public schools with a high population of Black students.
- organizations and programs that invest directly in predominately Black schools and/or neighborhoods.
- organizations/schools that are actively engaging students, parents, and/or educators in helping to guide the organization’s work in education and determine its goals.
Funding Information
- Organizations can apply for grants of up to $15,000.
Grant Period
- The grant period is one year, July 2022 – July 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
BPI will support grant proposals that:
- are designed with a focus on racial equity to ensure all K-12 and higher education systems have the support they need so that every student thrives.
- are designed to make a positive impact on students of color with an explicit focus on Black students.
- are making an impact within Forsyth County, NC.
- are being implemented by a 501(c)(3) organization, public school or higher education institution, or a faith-based organization. (Organizations that do not have a 501(c)(3) may utilize an organization with one to serve as its fiscal agent.)
