Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) are the conditions in the environment where people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks. SDOH are grounded in 5 domains:
- Economic Stability
- Education Access and Quality
- Health Care Access and Quality
- Neighborhood and Built Environment
- Social and Community Context
United Way R4 grantmaking will address gaps in services and increase capacity of organizations to meet basic needs of Marshall County’s most vulnerable individuals and families. Basic needs can encompass a wide range of programs, services, interventions and assistance to communities beyond food, shelter, rent/utility assistance, clothing and medical care. Consideration will be given to funding proposals or partners that can make the case that something that is funded feeds directly into a social determinants of health.
