This program is made possible by the WDA’s donors through the Main Street Tax Credit Incentive Program. The goal of this program is to provide engaging community activities and experiences for residents, visitors, and businesses in the downtown throughout the summer. The program provided micro grants to downtown businesses and organizations seeking to activate the sidewalks, plaza, and park in the downtown area. This program will run the months of June, July & August. Activations can include musical performances, DJ’s, classes, temporary installations, or other creative experiences.
Awards
Grants of $1,000.00 will be awarded to eligible businesses and organizations. 5 grants in each month and the recipients will receive the grant payment directly. Businesses and organizations must provide all necessary information to process payments, including a W-9. Business and organizations can apply once per month during the granting period.

Criteria for grant awards are based on the following categories:
- Cultural Community Support
- Impact on Activation Site
- Diversity of Activation
- Compliance to current COVID requirements
- Community connection
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to receive a 2022 Summer activation micro grant, applicants must agree to the following:
- Operate a street level business in the downtown boundaries or a nonprofit within the city limits of Wenatchee.
- Produce a space activation in June, July August WITHIN the boundaries of downtown.
- Create an event description and publish the event on social platforms and share with the WDA within 30 days of receiving the micro grant. Event descriptions are required to identify if an activation is recurring.
- During the activation capture 1-3 photos and tag the WDA on social media using Instagram and Facebook
