Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) is inviting applications for innovative projects to address and improve multiple social determinants of health among under represented communities in Washington State, including but not limited to racial, ethnic, physical and mental ability, gender, sexual identity, geographic location, income, and education inequities.

Goals

The goals of this Community Grants Program are to:

  • Address significant health inequities within affected communities.
  • Implement projects to address community identified needs.
  • Maintain collaborative activities with key partners.

Priority Areas 

  • Advance health equity: address social inequities associated with race, ethnicity, language, sexual and gender identity, cultural norms and/or education to move to a system where every person has the opportunity to attain their full health potential.
  • Provide culturally attuned prevention, education and screening: promote knowledge of healthy lifestyles and regular cancer screenings to decrease the prevalence and severity of cancer with a focus on marginalized and Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
  • Deliver access to affordable and attainable comprehensive care: improve access to high-quality cancer care and wraparound services to improve health.

Funding Information

Projects may ask for up to $15,000 total costs (direct + indirect costs).

  • The Community Grants Program works to build strong relationships between organizations who support diverse racial, ethnic, and underrepresented communities in Washington State.
  • Eligible applicants include community-based organizations, non-profit, 501(c)3 organizations, and Tribes located in Washington State (WA).
