With this solicitation, NIJ seeks rigorous research and demonstration projects to increase the impact of existing crime and justice research evidence. Specifically, NIJ seeks to fund research that leverages implementation science knowledge and promotes evidence-based policy and practice — most directly by developing, supporting, and evaluating efforts to improve research evidence use by policymakers, agency leaders, intermediaries, and other decision-makers who shape justice outcomes.

Objectives
The primary objective of this solicitation is to award research grants to generate and advance knowledge regarding efforts to improve evidence use among decision-makers — both grants that support research on how to improve evidence use among decision-makers and demonstration projects to identify and evaluate strategies for evidence-based policy and practice adoption.
