Funding Categories

Funding will be offered in the following categories:

  • Rehabilitation Services: funded by the Gavin Family Endowment to support quality rehabilitation services and education that restores health for western Montanans. A total of $30,000 is available, with a max grant of $10,000.
  • Skin Cancer and Melanoma Awareness: funded by the Steven Robinson Memorial Endowment to support education for the general public and/or healthcare professionals on skin cancer and melanoma awareness, diagnosis and treatment. A total of $4,000 is available, with a max grant of $2,000.
  • Public Health Education: funded by Minerva Society donors to support educational sessions/outreach for public awareness of and engagement in health issues of importance to western Montanans. A total of $1,500 is available, with a max grant of $1,000.

Eligibility Requirements 

For an application to qualify for review, it must include all requested information and required attachments in the order and format provided. Applicants must also meet the following eligibility requirements. Failure to follow all instructions may disqualify your application from review and/or funding.

  • Applicant Requirements:
    • A charitable nonprofit entity, not a private foundation, with tax exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code, and where appropriate, under Section 170 (c); or an educational institution.
    • Applying to address a health challenge, need or opportunity that meets the mission of Community Health Alliance and the criteria for the funding category.
  • Applicant Preferences:
    • Organizations serving children, families, and vulnerable populations in Western Montana.
    • Organizations offering services unduplicated in Western Montana and who, through collaboration, are able to increase the impact of any Community Health Alliance funding received.
  • Community Health Alliance will not accept applications:
    • From organizations that discriminate against race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, disability, age, or genetic information.
    • From private foundations.
    • For solely individual benefit.
    • To support fundraising events.
    • To support medical research.
    • To influence elections.
    • To support projects for the sole purpose of data collection.
