The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces the availability of funds to support agencies and organizations that coordinate and manage MMRCs to identify and characterize pregnancy-related deaths for preventability, abstract clinical/non-clinical data into a standard data system, conduct informant interviews to inform individual case review, and enter information into a standard data system within 2 years of death. In addition, funds may be available to build operationalization capacity of MMRC recommendations that reach specific populations with documented maternal health disparities.

This NOFO aims to improve data quality to identify and characterize pregnancy-related deaths and addresses health inequities by supporting the capacity to develop and implement datainformed strategies to prevent pregnancy-related deaths and reduce disparities among disproportionately impacted populations.
This NOFO will enhance MMRC capacity to make prevention recommendations to address preventable pregnancy-related deaths and increase availability of this data, in particular for communities disproportionately impacted. This NOFO will support agencies/organizations that coordinate/manage Maternal Mortality Review Committees to identify, characterize, and disseminate information on pregnancy-related deaths and opportunities for prevention.
