The City of Saline Environmental Commission (EVC) is happy to announce a new program to help fund local businesses environmental efforts. Up to four businesses can earn grants up to $500 to initiate new environmentally-friendly practices in their business operations in accordance with the City of Saline EVC’s vision in 2022.

The Saline Environmental Commission is a group of appointed citizens with the shared vision of educating and advising residents, officials, city staff and local businesses on environmental issues. They will also seek opportunities to collaborate with other regional agencies, recruit volunteers to participate in environmental activities and advocate for ideas and concepts which conserve resources.
Eligible Applicants Should
- Demonstrate project/ proposal readiness with a clearly defined scope, schedule, and budget
- Demonstrate a benefit to Environmental Services’ utilities:
- Surface Water (example: install rain garden, reduction in lawn watering practices),
- Solid Waste (example: recyclable cups/straws/carry out containers)
- Wastewater (example: reduce/eliminate use of organic solvents).
- Businesses with a presence within the city limits of Saline proper are eligible.
- Promotes reduce, reuse, recycle practices.
- Respond to questions from the Environmental Commission to supplement initial application.
- Submit to post-award auditing procedures including a site visit and verification.
- Allow the Environmental Commission to use award recipient image, likeness and recorded video of site visit on various social media platforms for promotion of local sustainability.
