The funds could support projects like: School or community gardens; bird houses, feeders, or blinds in public areas; events or signage at parks; supplies for birding groups; and educational materials.
The goal is to encourage people to protect birds and their habitats while increasing public awareness of the benefits of bird conservation with “hands in dirt” projects.

This program provides grants from $100-$1000 for community projects in the 10-county region that further the goals of Bird City Texas.
Proposal Guidelines
- Projects must involve the area served by Bexar County Audubon Society (Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson counties).
- Successful projects will have an educational component or focus on public property.
- Grant applicant(s) must serve as project manager and be responsible for grant reporting.
- Bexar Audubon Society Mini-grant funding may be combined with other private or public funds.
- A project may be a new one-year project, or part of a larger and/or longer-term project. However, this program will only fund a specific effort that may be completed within a twelve-month period.
