The Transformative Career Pathway Competitive Grants must provide skills training to communities of color and/or low-income communities, leading to employment or business development in high-growth industries.
Program
This RFP offers three (3) eligible services:
- Part 1a: Job & Skills Training
- Part 1b: Organizational Mentorship
- Part 2: Entrepreneurial Skills Training.
Priorities
It is the policy of the State of Minnesota to ensure fairness, precision, equity, and consistency in competitive grant awards. This includes implementing diversity and inclusion in grant-making. Policy 08-02 establishes the expectation that grant programs intentionally identify how the grant serves diverse populations, especially populations experiencing inequities and/or disparities. This grant will serve persons from communities of color and/or low-income communities.
Funding Information
Applicants may apply for up to $750,000 total.
Eligibility Criteria
- Per the funding legislation, community-based organizations are the only eligible applicants for this program.
- As defined in Minnesota Statute 116L.43 a “Community-based organization” is a nonprofit organization that:
- provides workforce development programming or services; and
- has its primary office located in a historically underserved community of color or low-income community; and
- serves a population that generally reflects the demographics of that local community.
- For the Transformative Career Pathway Competitive Grants, funding will be prioritized to serving areas with historically high unemployment rates, low academic achievement rates, and where median income is below family sustainable wage (Less than $50,000).
- Applicants’ primary location must be physically located in either a historically underserved community of color or low-income community and primarily serve the immediate surrounding community.
