The goals of GAMTTEP grants are to 1) attract K-12 students in underrepresented groups to STEM education and careers in the transportation industry; 2) create a talent pipeline from GAMTTEP to other FHWA Workforce Development Programs and other transportation careers; 3) foster creativity and forward-thinking by incorporating modern technologies, real-world problem-solving, and hands-on experiences in the curriculum; and 4) develop strong partnerships between Government, educational institutions, and the private sector to create a collaborative community that supports and uplifts underrepresented groups in transportation. FHWA seeks to award grants as allowable by law and consistent with the goals of GAMTTEP, that proactively address equity and barriers to opportunity.
Funding Information
The total amount of funding available for awards under this NOFO is $1.8 million for FYs 2024 through 2026, with up to $300,000 available per award.
Grant Period
The award period of performance is anticipated to be up to 2 years from the effective date of the award, as stated in the signed grant agreement.
Eligibility Criteria
An Applicant must be an accredited Local Educational Agency (LEA), or a State Educational Agency (SEA).
