The Anne Arundel County Department of Health is seeking applications for a peer-to-peer grant to provide support for Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) substance misuse prevention projects and activities.

Donor Name: Anne Arundel County Department of Health

State: Maryland

County: Anne Arundel County (MD)

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 12/06/2024

Size of the Grant: $1000 to $10,000

Grant Duration: Grant Duration Not Mentioned

Details:

The goal of SADD in Anne Arundel County is to:

  • Create, equip and sustain a network of student-run chapters focused on peer-to-peer education and community building.
  • Foster a sense of belonging and community among youth, regardless of culture, creed or credentials.
  • Promote resilience, leadership and advocacy skills so that young people make positive life decisions.

The SADD peer-to-peer education strategy aims to use youth peers to train and influence their friends on the adoption of healthy behaviors. This strategy will target the most vulnerable youth, who will be trained by peers who have similar life experiences, with the goal of reducing health disparities among county youth.

The successful applicant will be an Anne Arundel County Public School club or Youth Serving Organization based in the county and has the capacity to provide peer-to-peer education on substance use prevention. Priority will be given to organizations that have an active SADD chapter.
