The HALT Human Trafficking Fund was created to combat the rising incidences of human trafficking in Nebraska. Human trafficking involves exploiting individuals through force, fraud, or coercion for commercial sex acts, soliciting labor or services against their will. By fostering collaboration among stakeholders, the fund seeks to address the challenges associated with human trafficking prevention across the state. Supported by the Nebraska Bankers Association, its members and other stakeholders, the HALT Human Trafficking Fund is dedicated to eradicating human trafficking in Nebraska.

Contributions are tax deductible and will be allocated to education, data initiatives, and technology advancements. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations and government entities can apply. The Fund Advisory Board, which includes a Nebraska Bankers Association officer, key stakeholders, and an ex-officio member from the Nebraska Attorney General’s office, will review applications and distribute funds. Applicants must submit detailed proposals, and the impact of funded projects will be evaluated annually to ensure effective resource use and progress in combating human trafficking.
