The purpose of this measure is to support children and youth, ages 0-24 years old, that have been most impacted by poverty, violence, and trauma.
The goals of the measure are to:
- Prevent and reduce child and youth homelessness;
- Support the mental and emotional health of children and youth;
- Prevent youth violence;
- Prevent and reduce youth substance abuse; and
- Support the healthy development of children ages 0 to 5.
Funding Information
Applicants can apply for funding between $25,000 and $500,000 per year for up to 3.5 years, based on grant compliance.
Eligibility Criteria
All eligible applicants shall:
- Have an organizational budget at or above $50,000 in the current or most recent fiscal year;
- Have at least one year of experience providing direct services to children or youth (birth through 24 years) in the last five years; and
- Must be either a public agency or a community-based organization (CBO). CBOs must submit an exemption letter from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) certifying the organization’s status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. To obtain this letter, call the IRS at 1-877-829-5500. (Note: in some cases, it can take over two weeks to obtain this letter).
- Provide proof of the required liability insurance, if funded.
- If a previous or current City grantee, must be in good standing with the City.
- Align their program with at least one of the five fund goals.
- Reach children, youth, and families in the City of Sacramento who are most impacted by poverty, trauma, and violence.
- Demonstrate the ability to reach and serve those children, youth, and families that are not otherwise connected to programs or services.
