Details:

The Art Education category offers two funding strands: Pre-K-12 In-School Projects and After-School/Community-Based Learning. Funds can support arts education projects for closed groups of learners. All AE projects must be carried out in partnership with a public school or in partnership with a community-based organization.

  • K-12 IN SCHOOL LEARNING GRANT
    • The Art Education; In School K-12 Grant is designed to support art education projects in K-12 school settings, in partnership between art educators and public schools. Programs must take place during or after school in the 2025 calendar year, be arts/cultural in nature, and students must meet for at least (3) hands on sessions with the participating teaching artist(s). Non-profit organizations can apply directly for funds but must include a letter of support from the teaching artist(s) and partnering school. The applicant’s legal address must reside in the same county as the proposed program.
  • COMMUNITY BASED LEARNING GRANT
    • The Art Education; Community Based Learning Grant is designed to support art education projects in community-based settings such as libraries, community centers, and senior centers. Programs must take place in the 2025 calendar year. Program must include at least (3) hands on sessions with the same teaching artist(s) and same group of students. Non-profit organizations can apply directly for funds but must include a letter of support from the teaching artist(s). The applicant’s legal address must reside in the same county as the proposed program.

Funding Priorities 

  • Provide accessible, quality art programming to all residents in the region
  • Programs from new/up-and-coming community organizations
  • Programs that are innovative and reflect the diverse art forms currently present in the region
  • Programs that reflect the geographic area and culture of Warren or Washington County.

Funding Information

Organizations and Individual Artists may apply for a funding between $500 – $5,000.

Grant Period

All projects must take place between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

Eligible Expenses 

Statewide Community Regrants funds can fund the following expenses:

  • Activities/Projects of local arts organizations including both live and virtual activities.
  • Artist fees
  • Marketing/publicity costs
  • Direct administrative expenses and/or planning and preparation expenses for a proposed event.
  • Supplies and materials needed to execute the proposed project. Individual items may not exceed $1,000. Examples: art supplies, sheet music, hardware, memory cards, and other consumable equipment.

Eligibility Criteria

    • A 501(c)(3) or New York State non-profit organization with an active board of trustees either incorporated in NY State or registered to do business in NY State
    • A government or quasi-governmental entity, or Tribal Nation
    • Individual artists, groups or collectives, and unincorporated entities who are working with an eligible partner school (for in-school programs) or eligible fiscal sponsor or community partner if accepted by your SCR site (for out-of-school programs).
    • Lead applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of submission and may not be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree program.
      • Projects must take place in the same county as the fiscal sponsor or community partner.
    • If an individual artist or unincorporated group is working with a public school that is out of their county of residence, the applicant must have a nonprofit fiscal sponsor in the county of the public school where the project is to take place.
  • Community Based Learning Grant
    • A 501(c)(3) or New York State non-profit organization with an active board of trustees either incorporated in NY State or registered to do business in NY State
    • A government or quasi-governmental entity, or Tribal Nation
