The maximum grant request and award for the Artist in Community Grant is $3,000.
Grants can Fund
The Grant can pay for artist stipend(s), consumable materials and supplies (up to $1,000), food costs (up to $200) mileage (up to $75), space rental, and any other expenses directly related to the creation, publicity, and completion of artwork and the community component.
Criteria
- Artists whose ongoing work involves communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Artist can apply for art projects, live or virtual.
- This grant opportunity represents a “live & work” investment in local artists. It is designed to increase support for local artist-initiated community activity and to highlight the role of artists as important members of the community. Community members gain insight into what it means to be an artist.
- Applicant artists must demonstrate an active art career, i.e. consistently creating visual art, and/or performance art (choreography, playwrighting, music composition) and/or literature (poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction) or art film.
