The API Rise Fund comprised of API (Asian and/or Pacific Islander) philanthropists and community leaders aims to build and strengthen the next generation of API leadership for the Sacramento region. Their mission is to increase the capacity and impact of Asian Pacific Islander philanthropic giving in the Sacramento Region. They advance their mission by cultivating and securing resources and by engaging with locals to learn about the issues affecting the community.
This year, the focus of the API Rise Fund grant will be:
- Advancing multi-racial democracy, e.g., community empowerment, leadership development, representation of AAPI communities, how leaders make a difference in AAPI communities; media literacy, and capacity-building to increase social media presence/movement journalism/local journalism about AAPI community.
- AAPI mental health issues.
Funding Information
The maximum grant amount will be $10,000 for any single organization.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, the following must be met:
- The applicant agency must serve Asian, Native Hawaiian, and/or Pacific Islander populations;
- The applicant agency must have 501(c)3 status;
- The funded project must service Sacramento and/or Yolo counties;
- The requested grant cannot exceed $10,000 per organization; and
- The applicant agency has not been awarded APIs RISE Fund grants over two consecutive years, beginning from grants awarded in 2020.
