The NVG program offers a 2-to-1 matching grant, providing up to $10,000 per project.
Acceptable Projects
Funding must be used towards the cost of a project that involves design, construction, and/or installation. Ideas are provided here to help guide applicants. Priority is given to projects that will have a greater visibility and positive effect on the quality of life within Westfield. Projects that are located within the public right-of-way will be subject to additional review and approval. Below is a list of project examples.
- Environmental & Landscape Enhancement
- Converting high-maintenance common area lawns to no-mow native planting areas
- Installation of shoreline plantings, water aeration, or rain gardens
- Butterfly or wildlife habitat corridors
- Tree mitigation
- Neighborhood community gardens
- Recreation & Neighborhood Amenities
- Common area trail repair & improvements
- Park improvements such as benches, shelters, little libraries, etc.
- Neighborhood connectivity (connecting the trail network between two or more neighborhoods)
- Installation of solar lights
- Improved alternative transportation connectivity.
Eligibility Criteria
Homeowner’s Associations & Neighborhoods within Westfield City Limits are eligible to apply.
