The purpose of the Greater Together Community Funds program is to:
- Support the community in taking ownership around the needs in their towns
- Encourage broad and inclusive civic engagement and
- Anchor the Hartford foundation in each town.
The purpose of the Andover Greater Together Community Fund is to:
- Learn about needs and opportunities in town.
- Decide on priorities for funding to meet those needs.
- Recommend grants to be made from the funds set aside by the Hartford foundation for public giving.
- Provide awareness to Andover residents of community needs and opportunities; and
- Inspire continuing growth in philanthropic giving and volunteer service in town.

Requests can range from $250 to $10,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations who are registered nonprofits with a 501(c)3 designation as a public charity. Those without a 501(c)(3) designation must obtain a fiscal sponsor. The Town of Andover or a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit can serve as a fiscal sponsor. A religious organization can serve as a fiscal sponsor provided the purpose of the grant is non-religious in nature.
- The Town of Andover can apply for grants but funds cannot be used to supplant/replace/supersede existing sources of public dollars.
