Details:

The Progress and Enhancement grant cycle is a competitive one-time grant opportunity of up to $50,000 designed to address the priorities identified in the 2022 Community Health Assessment for Alamance County. Alamance County 501 (c)(3) non-profits seeking to improve access to care, education, or the economy are eligible for the funding, which is to be used for supply and equipment needs only.

Eligibility Criteria 

Must be located in Alamance County, serving Alamance County residents.

  • Organization must have its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status for at least 2 years.
  • Organization must demonstrate that they have the capacity to manage a grant.
  • Funds requested can be used for equipment needs only.
  • Equipment must be used on a consistent basis (at least weekly).
  • Organizations that have had a vehicle funded previously are not eligible for future vehicle requests.
  • Organizations that received funding from the Progress & Enhancement Fund in 2024 are not eligible to apply until 2026.
  • Priority will be given to organizations serving marginalized communities in Alamance County.

Impact Alamance is NOT able to provide grants to the following:

  • Organizations that cannot provide a W9 or IRS letter stating their 501(c)(3) status
  • Organizations that have a grant request that exceeds their total assets
  • Individuals
  • Political causes, candidates, organizations or campaigns
  • For-profit organizations
  • Public, charter or private schools
  • Youth sports/Little league teams/booster clubs/scouting organizations
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, culture, language, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status or religion
  • Individual churches
  • Grants for operations, programs or to fund new or existing staff

A strong application will demonstrate:

  • Two years of organizational operation
  • Proven track record of service in Alamance County
  • How the organization gains insights from people with lived experience in the area of service provided
  • Financial statements demonstrating revenue and expenses over two years (current year and previous year)
  • Clear project plans
  • Description of project need
  • Organization capacity to manage the scale of the project
  • Ability to sustain any ongoing maintenance costs.
