Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees must be the top-level executive at a for-profit or nonprofit organization with a significant presence in the Denver metro area.
- Nominee must have a physical presence in the Denver metro area. (The Denver metro area is defined as: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties.)
- Nominees must have held the position for at least 12 months.
- It is strongly encouraged that qualifying CEOs accept their award in person at the November 16 awards dinner; please consider this when submitting your nomination.
- Self-nominations are welcome.
- You can only win once. If you are a past winner, please consider nominating an acquaintance for this program.
- Nominees must agree to participate in a Denver Business Journal interview and the awards presentation in order to be honored and recognized on the DBJ website, in the weekly print edition and at the event.
- Please note the contact information provided must be that of the nominee and nominee company officials. Public Relations firms nominating clients must provide the direct contact info for the nominee and should inform their clients of the nomination. Failure to provide nominee’s contact information may result in candidates’ removal from the judging process.
Judging Criteria
- Leadership: Has the candidate proven themselves as a leader of their organization and the business community at large? Have they transformed the organization’s leadership role? If so, how?
- Contributions to Their Company: What new systems and/or innovations have they created within the organization that contribute to the company’s success?
- Community Involvement: How do they give back? Do they serve on a board or volunteer for an organization? Have they created a new program or overseen fundraising? Are they on the ground driving change? How is this person changing the community at large?
