These grants aim to address the historic and systemic exclusion of ALAANA artists from resources for creative work.
The ALAANA Artist grant program will provide up to $5,000 in individual artist grants to develop a work or series of works in any creative genre. Examples of ALAANA Artist projects might include a series of poems; a spoken word piece; a piece of music; a painting or sculpture; a public art installation; a short play; a dance performance. Collaboration is welcomed.
Grantees may request technical, promotional, and partnership support from ECCF/Creative County throughout the course of the project.
Grant Period
There is a strong preference for specific projects that are to be completed within a 12-month period.
Criteria
Grantees will be expected to:
- Participate in periodic site visits or communications with Creative County Program Director.
- Utilize the CreativeCounty.org communications portal, social media, and other media outlets as needed.
- Include ECCF/Creative County in public communications when promoting the grant-funded project.
- Engage in a final reporting process to reflect on project achievements, lessons learned, how individual artist capacity was served, and visual documentation of the project.
- Grantees will be strongly encouraged to participate in Creative County-sponsored trainings and convenings as relevant to grantee partners. Such trainings and convenings are provided as a resource intended to build grantee capacity for self-sustainability.
