Single District Small BID Support Grants provide funds to place-based nonprofit organizations that are currently addressing commercial corridor recovery, management, and growth within the boundaries of an existing Business Improvement District (BID) in NYC with an annual assessment less than or equal to $600,000 OR with an annual assessment less than or equal to $1 million and located in a low- to moderate-income neighborhood.
The Neighborhood Development Division (NDD) of the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) works with community-based organizations (CBOs) to build vibrant neighborhoods where New Yorkers can shop, work, and live. They oversee the largest network of Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) in the country; offer training, tools, and one-on- one assistance to local CBOs; administer grant programs to strengthen and revitalize commercial districts; and work with community partners to identify local commercial district needs and plan targeted solutions.
Funding Information
Funding for Single District Small BID Support Grants will provide up to $100,000 for staffing, planning, and implementing commercial revitalization projects within Designated Service Areas for Fiscal Year 2026 (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026) per district.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be:
- Incorporated nonprofit corporations that operate, or have the authority to operate, in New York City;
- Compliant with annual State and Federal filing requirements that are pertinent to their type of organization, including New York State Charities Bureau filings;
- Providing existing commercial revitalization services within the boundaries of eligible Business Improvement District geographies in New York City;
- Compliant with other existing SBS requirements and expectations.
