The AANHPI Fund 2025 Grant is focused on supporting nonprofit projects and programs that increase access to mental health and wellbeing supports for AANHPI youth and young adults.

Details:

This grant supports projects and programs focused on well-being for AANHPI youth and young adults, ages 15-24, while providing and destigmatizing access to mental and behavioral health services utilizing culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices.

Strategies

The AANHPI Fund 2025 grant cycle aims to support projects that employ one or more of the following key strategies:

  • Provide screening, treatment and/or access to supportive interventions
    • Provide trauma-informed, culturally relevant programs and interventions for AANHPI youth and young people, ages 15-24, to support mental health and well-being. Priority is given to programs that offer in language services and support.
  • Facilitate intergenerational connections that promote well-being
    • Provide opportunities for AANHPI youth and young people, ages 15-24, to build and maintain connections with community elders in a supportive and culturally relevant environment.
  • Create pathways to leadership development
    • Provide opportunities for AANHPI youth and young people, ages 15-24, to access culturally relevant mentorship and leadership development opportunities that reinforce belonging and well-being.
  • Outreach and education to create narrative change and enhance access to care
    • Conduct outreach and education to reduce the stigma of mental health in the community and ensure AANHPI youth and young people are knowledgeable and have access to high-quality, affordable and culturally responsive mental and behavioral health support.

Proposals can include, but are not limited to, creative youth development programs, family-centered interventions, peer-to-peer support, coaching and mentoring, or other culturally relevant programs that promote resiliency, well-being and belonging.

Funding Information

The award amount for this grant cycle is expected to total $500,000. Eligible organizations may request a maximum of $50,000 per proposal.

Grant Period

Projects must be completed within a 12-month timeline.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Each proposal must be led by a nonprofit with 501(c)(3) public charity status, located in and serving San Diego County. A 501(c)(3) public charity may serve as a fiscal sponsor for another applicant to administer the grant and provide regular financial reporting to San Diego Foundation.
  • Each proposal must be led by a nonprofit with 501(c)(3) public charity status, operating in and serving San Diego County.
  • A 501(c)(3) public charity may serve as a fiscal sponsor for another applicant to administer the grant and provide regular financial reporting to SDF.
  • San Diego Foundation will not fund endowments, existing obligations/debt, scholarships, or projects that promote religious or political doctrines.
  • Projects must work to enhance mental health and well-being for AANHPI youth and young people, ages 15-24.
  • Projects must include mechanisms to collect and report participant data disaggregated by AANHPI subgroup.
