The City of Eugene Youth Empowerment Program (YEP), established in 2022, prioritizes building bridges with community organizations that are empowering teens.
YEP Financial Grants provide grants to support youth activities aimed at supporting safety outcomes. A limited number of financial grants are available to assist in creating successful and sustainable programs.

Up to $3,000.
Grant Period
Grants are available to support programs running between July 2025 and June 2026.
Examples of how grants can be used
- Types of programs: summer camp, afterschool, workshop, mentorship, internship, community service, academic support, leadership, job training, personal empowerment, civic participation, coming of age, etc.
- Lower or eliminate costs to participate
- Increase program hours
- Special events or activities
- New initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Programs must:
- Be free, sliding scale, or have scholarships available to participants
- Work with youth with a focus on serving at-risk, and diverse populations, or improving safety outcomes.
Selection Process
Applications will first be screened by the Youth Empowerment Program staff to determine eligibility based on the eligibility criteria
- Economic viability and accessibility to participate
- Alignment to youth interests
- Commitment to equity and inclusion
- Ability to address these three impacts:
- Youth adopt healthy lifestyles resulting in decreased youth violence and risk-related behaviors
- Youth develop skills for building meaningful and healthy relationships while experiencing inclusion and belonging
- Youth grow up safely and access their best possible future.
