These funds will support programs and initiatives that address the impact of opioid use disorder and expand access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services across North Dakota.
The grant is open to entities interested in providing services in North Dakota that address a wide array of evidence-based interventions. Among them are treatment and rehabilitation, prevention initiatives, training and education and support for families and communities.
Applicants whose proposals align with one or more priority recommendations from the Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee, chaired by Christopher Joseph, general council for the Governor’s Office, will receive additional points during the review process. These priority recommendations include:
- Expanding access to community-based treatment and recovery services in rural and non-rural areas.
- Increasing treatment and recovery services within jail settings.
- Supporting prevention activities, including community coalitions and youth-focused programs.
- Enhancing the behavioral health workforce to meet growing service demands.
- Supporting Syringe Service Programs to reduce harm and improve public health outcomes.
Grant Period
Grant awards are expected to be announced in early June with the 24-month contracts beginning July 1.
