Applications Open for Hacker Lab Pathways Program 2022

Details:

Pathways was created by Hacker Lab with the intention of making their unique space, equipment, training, and community accessible to those who would not otherwise be able to afford membership.

Acceptance into this program gets you:

  • 8 months of Hacker Lab membership
  • $235 in class credits, good towards any Hacker Lab classes
  • Access to Hacker Lab’s community of makers, entrepreneurs, and lifelong learners

Since the launch of the program in 2018, over 100 participants have utilized Pathways to explore new fields, launch small businesses, attain higher education, create prototypes, sell products, improve career skills, and more. Pathways can also be your path to gaining new skills, creating or furthering your small business, or supporting your continuing educational endeavors!

  • Access to tools in Hacker Lab’s 5000 sq feet makerspace
  • Access to Hacker Lab workshops

Eligibility Criteria

  • Reside in the greater Sacramento area. – Must be at least 18 years old
  • Have a household income less than $48,350 annually and cannot otherwise afford Hacker Lab membership.
  • Agree to abide by Hacker Lab’s terms, conditions, and policies
  • Be able to actively participate in and take advantage of Hacker Lab access during the 8 month term
  • Be available for regular contact with Hacker Lab through occasional surveys and other communications (email, etc.)

The ideal candidate’s goals are one or more of the following:

  • Gaining new skills, especially toward improving career opportunities
  • Starting or growing a small business
  • Enrolled in or planning to enroll in continuing education
  • Self-motivated to take advantage of Hacker Lab’s existing programs, trainings, space, and equipment
  • Submits a detailed application clearly laying out what they are planning to get out of their time at Hacker Lab
