Funding Information

Each applicant may apply for funding for one event only, with a maximum award of $2,500 for single organizations/individuals and $5000 for collaborative applications.

Grant Period

Events must occur between June 1, 2025, and September 15, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Local Neighborhood Associations, Community-Based Organizations, Foundations, and Non-profit Organizations are welcome to apply.
  • Selected agencies will be required to submit a W-9 form, receipts, a sign-in sheet or outreach list, and an event flyer.
  • Each event or program must incorporate elements of violence prevention, intervention, or healing.
    • Prevention: Prevention refers to efforts aimed at stopping violence from occurring in the first place. This can involve a range of strategies, including education, community outreach, policy changes, and promoting healthy relationships. Prevention efforts often target underlying causes of violence, such as poverty, inequality, and social norms that condone or perpetuate violence. The goal of prevention is to address root causes and create environments where violence is less likely to occur. Examples of events include, but are not limited to, community awareness fair, community workshops, neighborhood cleanup day, youth empowerment summit, and public art projects
    • Intervention: Intervention involves responding to situations where violence is imminent or has already occurred. This can include crisis intervention, conflict mediation, law enforcement involvement, and providing support services to victims and perpetrators. Intervention strategies focus on de-escalating conflicts, protecting individuals from harm, and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions. The goal of intervention is to stop violence in progress and prevent further harm. Examples of events include, but are not limited to, community safety walk, community meditation day, emergency preparedness training, violence prevention rally, and peacebuilding dialogue circles
    • Aftercare: Aftercare refers to the support and services provided to individuals affected by violence after the initial incident has occurred. This can include medical care, counseling, legal assistance, housing support, and community reintegration programs. Aftercare aims to help victims heal from their experiences, address any ongoing needs or challenges they may face, and prevent future instances of violence. It can also involve rehabilitation and support services for perpetrators to prevent reoffending. Examples of events include community healing circle, resource fair for victims, community health fair, reintegration job fair, and community memorial service.
