These ARPA funds are meant to support the recovery of the City’s arts and culture sector from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Support for Artists program specifically supports the economic recovery of individual artists.
Funding Information
- This program will provide a total of $125,000 in direct financial support to city artists whose livelihoods were disrupted by the pandemic.
- Seventy-five individual artists will be awarded one-time grants of $500, $1,500, or $3,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Individual artists are welcome to apply for the Support for Artists grant if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be a resident within the City of Pittsburgh municipal boundary.
- Must be at least 22 years of age (or at least 18 years of age as of March 3, 2021).
- Must be able to demonstrate a COVID-19 pandemic-related disruption to income as of March 3, 2021 or later.
- Must be able to demonstrate having a creative practice active before and after March 3, 2021. The practice may be in one or more of the following areas:
- Crafts
- Dance
- Design Arts
- Folk/Traditional Arts
- Literature
- Media Arts
- Multi-Disciplinary
- Music
- Musical Theater
- Photography
- Poetry
- Theater
- Video/Film
- Visual Arts (2-D)
- Visual Arts (3-D)
- Writing (fiction or nonfiction).
