BEAM Circular invites proposals for grants of $10,000 to $500,000 to support the development of wet labs and job training facilities in Stanislaus County. A total of up to $1.5 million will be awarded. This grant program is managed by BEAM Circular and supported by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding from Stanislaus County.
Investments should prepare the local workforce for jobs in bio-based manufacturing, chemical engineering, biotechnology, biomass processing, sustainable waste management, and/or other fields that support the development and production of bio-based products including chemicals, materials, fuels, and advanced food ingredients.
Funding Information
A total of up to $800,000 is available for this grant program. Applicants may apply for a minimum of $5,000 and up to $100,000 per project proposal, and should develop a budget and total funding request that aligns with the scope of their project.
Eligible Uses of Funds
Funds may be used to build local capacity through:
- Workforce training and lab equipment for hands-on skill development;
- Incubator spaces for early-stage businesses that enable job training opportunities; or
- Community-accessible laboratory facilities that enable broader participation in science, technology, and innovation.
Eligibility Criteria
Projects must be deployed in Stanislaus County. Educational institutions, local governmental entities and school districts, and 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.
