The Victoria S. and Bradley L. Geist Foundation is inviting applications for grants that aim to strengthen the ability of organizations and programs to provide and expand quality services for foster children and their families in Hawaii.
Grants will generally range from $5,000 to $40,000, although the maximum grant size may be as high as $100,000. The deadline to apply is September 15, 2025. The duration of the grants is not specified.
The foundation prioritizes projects that build organizational, program, or community capacity. This includes efforts related to governance, leadership, strategic partnerships, program evaluation, resource development, internal management, program delivery, executive transitions, and staff training.
Eligible applicants must be tax-exempt organizations located in Hawaii, either classified as 501(c)(3) or religious organizations. Government units and public schools are not eligible, nor are projects operating under fiscal sponsorships.
To qualify, the primary beneficiaries of the project must be children in foster custody through a Hawaii state agency; children in therapeutic foster care or other forms of placement such as kinship, guardianship, or adoption; their caregivers; or youth aged 16–24 who have aged out of Hawaii’s child welfare or mental health systems.
