The Daniel Foundation of Alabama supports programs that provide individuals with basic needs such as access to food, clothing, and adequate housing. Their mission is to strengthen communities across Alabama and improve the quality of life for citizens throughout the state.
They focus on supporting effective organizations that work to build a healthy, well-educated population living in vibrant communities. The foundation emphasizes programs and classes that help individuals better manage their circumstances, leading to improved job opportunities and better outcomes for Alabama’s families.
Special attention is given to rural communities and nonprofit organizations, aiming to spark revitalization in Alabama’s diverse rural areas. The foundation also values the development of leaders who have the vision and capacity to address local challenges.
Priority areas for funding include access to basic needs like food, clothing, and housing, effective job training and life skills programs, rural community initiatives, projects serving Alabama’s veterans, and leadership programs that successfully develop leaders in nonprofit, government, and business sectors.
The Daniel Foundation does not fund individuals, scholarships, fundraising event sponsorships, or organizations located outside Alabama. The application deadline is July 25, 2025.
