The Duke Energy Foundation’s Workforce Development Grant offers funding to support initiatives that build a diverse talent pipeline for the energy sector in Kentucky and Ohio. These grants aim to back programs that address regional workforce needs and provide valuable upskilling credentials to strengthen local economies.
Preferred programs include workforce development training for energy industry jobs, such as lineworker and engineering courses at community colleges, certification programs for energy trades, and engineering or climate programs at four-year universities. Support is also available for trades training with licenses and certifications, new program development, and energy-focused education and career readiness efforts targeting high school students and teachers.
The average grant award ranges from $10,000 to $15,000. Eligible organizations must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, serve communities within Duke Energy’s Ohio or Kentucky service areas, uphold non-discrimination policies, and have a system to measure and report program outcomes with demonstrated community impact. The application deadline is April 30, 2026.
