The Duke Energy Foundation is accepting applications for its Urban Revitalization Grants. These grants are designed to support redevelopment projects that combat urban blight and reduce building vacancies, while encouraging business growth and job retention in targeted communities.
The focus of the program is to attract new businesses, create jobs, and stimulate further development in areas served by Duke Energy. Eligible projects can include efforts that prevent the decline of neighborhoods and city corridors, support economic vitality, and act as catalysts for future redevelopment.
Funding can be used for a variety of predevelopment services, including architectural and engineering design, environmental assessments, and real estate or financial consulting. These activities aim to lay the groundwork for commercial redevelopment and job creation.
Most grants awarded fall at or below $20,000, though funding can range from $10,000 to $100,000. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2025.
Applicants must be 501(c)(3) public charities or government entities such as school systems. Projects must serve Duke Energy communities in Kentucky and Ohio without discrimination and must include a system to track and report measurable community outcomes.
