The Worcester County Health Department (WCHD) is inviting proposals to support community tobacco control projects funded by cigarette restitution funds from the State of Maryland. The focus is on preventing and reducing tobacco use, including electronic cigarettes and vaping, as well as promoting cessation and environmental change strategies.
Proposed activities can include awareness campaigns, community mobilization, support groups, recruitment and referral for cessation programs, educational efforts, advocacy, and training. Applicants are encouraged to design multi-session or multi-strategy approaches to maximize impact. Grant funds may be used for stipends, educational and promotional materials, incentives, and training costs.
Organizations may request up to $2,000 to support these community-based tobacco control efforts. Eligible applicants include community organizations, churches, private entities, nonprofits, and workplaces within Worcester County, Maryland. The application deadline is August 4, 2025.
