Tourism Advancement Grants are designed to support events, projects, and marketing campaigns that attract overnight visitors to Tompkins County, New York. The grants range from $1,000 to $10,000 and are available to a variety of initiatives aimed at boosting tourism in the area.
These funds can be used for a range of projects, including large-scale events, marketing campaigns, art installations, guided tours, exhibits, festivals, outdoor theater productions, and more. The goal is to create experiences that draw tourists and contribute to the local economy.
Eligible projects must align with the county’s Strategic Tourism Plan or other related tourism implementation plans. Examples of eligible projects include artistic performances, heritage tourism events, agriculinary events, outdoor recreation activities, niche audience events, festivals, sporting events, and marketing campaigns.
Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, municipalities within Tompkins County, and other organizations with a fiscal sponsor that meets the criteria are eligible to apply. The application deadline is August 25, 2025.
