Dogwood Health Trust has announced a special funding opportunity aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of older adults, specifically those aged 60 and over, living in the 18 counties and Qualla Boundary of Western North Carolina.
This grant opportunity is open to nonprofit public charities, governmental organizations, faith-based groups, and educational institutions. Eligible applicants must serve the target area but do not need to be physically located there. The deadline to apply is August 4, 2025.
Grants will range in size from $50,000 to $150,000. Funding may be used for either general operating support or specific programs and projects that benefit older adults and their caregivers. All initiatives should align with Dogwood’s strategic focus areas: housing, education, economic opportunity, and health & wellness.
General operating support can be used for a wide variety of needs including staff development, strategic planning, expanding programs, advocacy, improving operations, and community engagement. Program or project funding should support services that directly impact older adults and their caregivers, with a preference for efforts benefiting low- to moderate-income individuals.
Strong proposals will show collaboration with other community partners, adaptability to current challenges, clear organizational priorities, and measurable impact. Applications that reflect the voices and lived experiences of historically underserved communities are highly encouraged.
