The Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley is thrilled to announce the availability of Field Trip Grants. These grants provide funding to support educational field trips for public schools in Dutchess County and Ulster County, New York. The maximum award per field trip is $2,000, and schools are typically limited to no more than two grants per year, with a total award cap of $4,000. Priority will be given to high-needs schools and districts.
Eligible applicants include kindergarten through grade 12 educators in public schools within Dutchess and Ulster counties. Field trips must be tied to educational curricula and should take place outside of school hours. These grants can cover costs such as transportation, admissions, and support for students who may not be able to pay their portion of the trip. However, summer programs, clubs, and after-school activities are not eligible for funding.
Teachers are encouraged to first seek funding from their school or district. If other sources are unavailable or depleted, they may apply for funding through this program. Schools should coordinate with leadership to prioritize the number of applications submitted. Only regular academic-year field trips are eligible for consideration.
Applications must be submitted by individual teachers, and accounts should be tied directly to the school or district. Collaboration with other faculty members or grant writers is allowed, but the teacher will remain the lead applicant for reporting purposes. Grants will support trips that are educationally valuable and reasonable in scope, and those that serve an entire grade level will be prioritized.
The deadline for applications is September 15, 2025.
