The Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley is excited to announce the Ann and Abe Effron Donor Advised Fund Grant Program. This program aims to support organizations in Dutchess County, New York, focused on arts, culture, and education. Special consideration will be given to grants that improve access to events and facilities for young people and senior citizens. Grants can range from $1,000 to $3,000, with the average award being around $1,500.
To be eligible, organizations must be tax-exempt and either based in Dutchess County or provide services to its residents. However, grants will not support individuals, debt reduction, fundraising events, or capital campaigns. Additionally, the funds are not intended for equipment unless directly tied to program support, political projects, or religious activities. Schools can receive grants, but only for community service programs or professional development for teachers targeting disadvantaged students.
Applications will be evaluated based on several criteria, including the quality and clarity of the proposed project, the organization’s capacity to execute the plan, and the potential impact of the project on the community. The foundation looks for programs that create long-term change, with a significant, positive effect on their target population.
