The Margaret and Vito D’Ambruso Fund, administered by the Rochester Area Community Foundation, is now accepting applications to support children with serious health-related challenges in the Greater Rochester region. This grant is intended to assist children who suffer from disfigurement or incapacitation due to congenital abnormalities, genetic conditions, illnesses, or accidents and who require treatments, equipment, or adaptive improvements that their families cannot afford.
Grants of up to $5,000 are available and can be used for corrective treatments, specialized medical equipment, or adaptive capital improvements. The funds are distributed through nonprofit organizations that are actively working with the child’s family. Each family is eligible for one grant.
Applicants must be recognized as a 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1) public charity, or be working with a fiscal sponsor. Grant funds must benefit children residing in one of the eight counties served by the Community Foundation: Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, or Yates.
There is no deadline to apply—applications are accepted year-round.
