The Toledo Rotary Club Foundation provides grants to support the educational and charitable efforts of the Rotary Club of Toledo. It is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit corporation that acts as the primary charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Toledo. Annual contributions to the Foundation are added to the Toledo Rotary Club Foundation Fund, which is managed by the Greater Toledo Community Foundation. This fund supports grants for charitable and educational purposes primarily in Toledo and northwest Ohio.
The Foundation focuses on projects and programs with community or international value, especially those aligned with Rotary International’s seven areas of focus. These include promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water and sanitation, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies, and protecting the environment. Preference is given to projects that impact the City of Toledo or northwest Ohio. Collaborative projects involving two or more partner organizations are also prioritized.
Grant proposals should address one of several areas: community services that improve northwest Ohio, disability services that support individuals’ independence, international services promoting goodwill and peace, vocational services providing mentoring in trades and professions, environmental services supporting sustainability, or youth services tackling local youth challenges.
Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000. Only nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status are eligible. Organizations that receive a traditional grant award must wait two years before applying again. The application deadline is August 31, 2025.
