The Saratoga County Department of Aging & Youth Services is accepting applications for youth programming services from municipalities and nonprofit community organizations for the upcoming program year. These programs should offer quality recreation, social, and skill-building opportunities for the general youth population.
There are four funding streams available. Youth Development Programs (YDP) support free, direct services for youth under 21 to improve individual and community outcomes. Youth Sports and Education Funding (YSEF) targets youth ages 6-17 and promotes educational achievement, physical and mental health, employment, and community cohesion.
The Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA) supports services based on Positive Youth Development, focusing on healthy relationships, youth strengths, and leadership. Youth Team Sports (YTS) funds programs that give under-resourced youth the chance to learn and participate in team sports, including necessary instruction.
To be eligible, programs must serve youth and families in Saratoga County. Applicants must be nonprofit or community-based organizations with proper federal or charity registration. Municipalities charging fees need a policy to assist youth who cannot pay through scholarships, tiered fees, or waivers.
Insurance requirements must be met according to the contract, and programs must operate and spend funds within the contract period. Organizations must have enough overhead to manage reimbursement claims, which along with annual reports, are due by October 10th. Applicants are encouraged to review the current guidelines attached to each funding stream for full eligibility details. The application deadline is July 31, 2025.
