The Presser Foundation is currently inviting applications for its Advancement of Music grantmaking initiative. This program offers flexible funding to support organizations dedicated to the field of music.
Grants typically range from $2,500 to $50,000 annually, although funding can go up to $100,000. These grants are meant to provide general operating support for nonprofit music organizations working across various musical genres, styles, and traditions.
Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations engaged in music performance, music presentation, or pre-collegiate music education. This includes community music schools, after-school programs, preparatory divisions, and youth vocal or instrumental programs. However, K-12 schools are not directly funded.
Organizations must be located within a 75-mile radius of Philadelphia, including areas in Pennsylvania (such as Harrisburg), New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Applications from the New York and Baltimore metro areas are not eligible.
Newly established organizations (within five years) may apply under the Foundation’s Special Projects category. Both single-year and multi-year funding opportunities are available, and multi-year proposals are accepted by invitation from the Advancement of Music committee.
Applications will be evaluated based on organizational strength, community relevance, impact, stability, commitment to equity in music access, and contribution to the broader music ecosystem.
The deadline to apply is November 15, 2025.
