Eligibility Criteria
Your organization is eligible to apply for a grant if:
- It is an active 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or government equivalent, or has a qualified fiscal agent.
- Its activities take place in Colorado.
- You have not received a grant in the past three years (three-year wait period following successful application) or been declined in the past year (one-year wait period following declined application).
Ineligibility
El Pomar does not accept competitive or Fund applications for grant support for:
- Organizations that do not have an active 501c3 nonprofit IRS determination letter or a fiscal agent with an active 501c3 status
- Private foundations or 509a3 organizations that are not functionally integrated according to the IRS
- Organizations that do not have fiscal responsibility for the proposed project
- Organizations that practice discrimination of any kind
- Other foundations or nonprofits that distribute scholarships to recipients of its own selection
- Endowments
- Individuals
- Religious organizations for support of religious programs
- Deficits or debt elimination
- Travel, conferences, conventions, group meetings, or seminars
- Influence legislation or support candidates for political office
- Produce videos or other media projects
- Scientific research projects or studies
- Without prior approval, El Pomar does not accept competitive or Fund applications for grant support for the items listed below. Please contact the Grants Office for consent to apply for any of the following:
- Camps, camp programs, or other seasonal activities
- Research projects or studies
- Primary or secondary schools (K-12); El Pomar will consider, on a limited basis, capital requests from non-publicly funded secondary schools.
